Board of Directors

Steve SlonakerSteve Slonaker became a Board member in 2001 and was named Board President in 2013. He is the owner of Slonaker Farm Management. Mr. Slonaker opened his company in 1986 after 13 years as an agriculture lender. He served as Chairman of the Reid Hospital Foundation and the Wayne County Learning Corporation. He also served on the Ivy Tech Region 9 Board of Trustee and is past Chairman of the Board of the Richmond-Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.

Rob QuiggRob Quigg joined the Board in 2005. He is the treasurer of Richmond Baking Company. Rob is a CPA and a graduate of Indiana University. He is the past Chair of the Wayne Co. Foundation; serves on the Board of Directors of the Indiana University Foundation and the Board of the Richmond Art Museum .

Bonnie Kruckenberg Bonnie Boyd Kruckenberg joined the Board in 2011. Kruckenberg is the youngest daughter of the late Alonzo H. Boyd, who served as the bank’s previous President. Kruckenberg has vast experience in the banking and finance industry - previously serving as a Commissioned Bank Examiner for the FDIC; and later as the Vice President Relationship Manager of US Bank/First Wisconsin; to her current position as Business Services Manager of Wind River Financial, Inc.

 Anthony Gillam joined the Board in 2012. Gillam is the co-owner of Gillam & Zetzl Inc.. He is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He earned his CPA designation in 1988. Gillam is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Indiana CPA Society. He currently serves on Wayne County Council and is a member of the City of Richmond Revolving Loan Fund. He also serves as Treasurer of the Golay Community Center, Inc. and is a member of the Richmond Kiwanis Club. He is a past board member of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and served as Chairman of the Board for the Chamber in 2000.

Mark Soukup Mark Soukup is the President and CEO of Wayne Bank and joined the board in 2013. He is a 1978 graduate of the University of Toledo and was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Soukup has six children and four grandchildren. He has been in the banking industry since 1978 and has 20 years of executive management experience. He loves being a leader in Community Banking.  Mark is a Board member of Community in Schools, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Growth Group.  He is a member of the Richmond Rotary and Mayors Economic Vitality Group.

Eric VanVleet Eric VanVleet graduated from Richmond High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science, Political Science Degree from Miami University, in Oxford, Ohio.  He started VanVleet Insurance in 1981 and has grown the company over the past thirty-one years, receiving many awards and becoming the third largest Erie Insurance Agency in the State of Indiana.  Eric is a native of Richmond and has always been very involved in the community.  He has served on the Boards of the YMCA, Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, Economic Development Corporation of Wayne County, United Way and the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana.

  Roger Richert, former Real Estate broker and Auctioneer, is President of the Richmond Furniture Gallery. He has been instrumental in the development of the Historic Richmond Depot District, the Avenue of Flags project, Old Fashioned Christmas Festival, 1902 Train Depot restoration, Historic preservation, and bringing the National model T Museum to Richmond. Roger uses his auctioning talents to raise thousands of dollars for charity annually.  He currently serves on the Board of Center City, the Starr Gennett Foundation, and is a 39 year member of Kiwanis. He is a 2013 inductee into the Eastern Indiana Business Hall of Fame. 

  Penny Wickes is a successful business owner with a strong sense of community leadership. She is a near lifelong resident of Wayne County and has been involved in her community and business since 1987. Precision Wire Assemblies, Inc. was started in 1987 and since then she has added Progressive Properties, LLC; The Meeting Place, LLC; Willie & Reds, LLC; The Shoppes of East Main; Exquisite Real Estate, LLC; and Hartley Hills Golf Club, LLC. 

Jim is one of the founding partners of GuidePoint Financial and is an independent financial advisor, affiliated with LPL Financial, the largest independent broker/dealer in the country.  He manages investment assets focusing on financial planning and analysis for individuals and retirement plans for businesses. Jim has been a financial advisor since 2000.  From 1986 to 2000, Jim worked for Harrington Bank where he held many positions. In 1992 Jim was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and elected Secretary  to the Board of Directors, positions he held until leaving to become a Financial Advisor. Jim has a strong commitment to the community. He has served previously in volunteer leadership positions with the Chamber of Commerce and the United Way Boards and currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Communities IN Schools.

In 2016, the bank lost a valuable member of the board and a friend.  Dave Fulton is greatly missed by Wayne Bank staff and the Board of Directors.
